The Woodlands Mall

This two story enclosed mall is the perfect place for a little retail therapy. Bring the family so the kids can get the latest back-to-school looks while you get the latest gadgets. If you get hungry, you’re in luck! There are numerous food options, from pretzels and coffee to steak and wine and everything in between!

Rob Fleming Aquatic Center

Not only is this attraction great for kids, it’s also fun for adults. This attraction is a reasonably-priced mini water park perfect for the whole family. There is a kids play area and tube slide, as well as a lazy river great for just floating around. The prices per person range from $8 to $10, which is a bargain considering all the fun you’ll be having. Season passes are also available but are definitely a better value for residents of The Woodlands Township. Don’t forget the towels and sunscreen for this attraction!

George Mitchell Nature Preserve

While this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, hiking through this nature preserve left mostly undisturbed by people (with the exception of the trails) is quite literally a walk in the park. The serene scenery is sure to charm any visitor and the shady canopy will keep you cool. It is crazy to think it’s less than ten miles from the inner city of The Woodlands. The parking is limited, so try to get there earlier in the day.

Portofino Shopping Center

This outdoor shopping venue offers a classic Venetian style with lovely Roman fountains and 10-foot waterfalls—a great shopping hot spot for the whole family.

Sterling Ridge Shopping Center

Whether you need a haircut for yourself, a spa day for your pet, or subs for the whole family, Sterling Ridge is a go-to for your shopping needs.

Market Street

The open-air urban shopping center is great for friends and family alike, with on-site dining and even a hotel for the occasional staycation.

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Buy lawn tickets ahead of time for the whole bunch, bring a blanket or some chairs, and enjoy the show! The casual atmosphere is perfect to add interest to an otherwise monotonous weekend. If you’re going to see one of the more popular acts, be sure to get there early so you have time to park and snag a great spot on the lawn.

The Woodlands Children's Museum

Spend a day learning and exploring with the entire family. This museum is definitely ideal for toddlers to preteens and will be a whole lot of fun for younger children. The activities may include dancing to Tom’s Fun Band, meeting small creatures during Critter Time, or learning fun new science facts.

Riva Row Boat House

Take the family kayaking on Lake Woodlands. Prices range from $10 to $20 per person for the first hour and $5 for every additional hour. An hour may not seem like much, but after an hour full of paddling yourself around, it’s likely you’ll be ready to chill out and grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant.

The Woodlands Hike and Bike Trail

These beautiful pathways stretch for more than 160 miles around The Woodlands area, allowing community members ample room to get out of the house and get their blood pumping. You can run, bike, blade or skate these extensive trails.

Farmers Market at CHI St. Luke's Health–The Woodlands

This Farmers Market features local vendors and happens most Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., perfect for you to stop by on your lunch break.

Town Green Park

Near the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Town Green Park has a lawn area for a number of outdoor activities, as well as a children’s garden complete with a natural labyrinth of 3-foot-high hedges. The entrance is also rather scenic as is the sculpture garden.

WG Jones State Forest

Not only are there a number of trails to hike, there are also picnic, fishing, and bird viewing areas. Go for a horseback ride and check out their famous champion sweetleaf tree.

The spacious lake is great for going out on a boat, participating in your favorite watersport (kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, etc). You can also grab some bait and take the family fishing.

The Woodlands Farmer's Market At Gorgan's Mill

Why spend a Saturday morning in bed when you could be out supporting local businesses? The attractions could include a food truck, a balloon artist, and fresh Texas produce, maybe even some handmade soap. You’ll want to get there bright and early to get the best picks. The market is open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday mornings.

Annual Children's Festival

This annual event takes place in mid-November at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and costs $8 per person ahead of time or $10 at the gate. There are fun activity zones as well as performers, both local and well-known.

This event happens in late September with tickets ranging from $60 to $120, depending on the type of admission you’d like and the number of tickets you are purchasing. Come out to try the delicious meats that all of the different barbeque joints have to offer!

This annual event, hosted by The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce in late January, is $15 per child and $25 per adult, although there are group discounts available.
